I think, that there are some issues mixed!
To make it clear: The current brightness level is not saved at all on shut down.
The setting is read out of System - Preferences - Power Management - Set
display brightness to:

I did a clean install of kk and fired up the player.The plugin is enabled by
default, but the configuration defaults to not showing the status icon.This is
clearly an oxymoron.

How about removing the highlight of the pseudo file name then. If the
focus is on the folder, highlight the folder but do not highlight the
suggested filename.

Currently, the highlighted color changes depending on whether the
filename string has focus or not. Being able to tell whether the text is
in focus or not probably depends a great deal on the gtk theme. This is

It seems evince- and PDF-specific.
I tried the same PDF file in okular, there it was printed as it should.

In the faulty PDF, if I select 2-4 pages, 4 pages per side, I notice
some weird text duplication on page 3 under the heading SubVIs.
Visible in Print Preview of evince. This glitch disappears if I select
all pages, 4 pages per side. Screenshot of the glitch attached.
