Recently I burned a DVD-R from an ISO image file.
It was very slow.
The reason: brasero reads the input ISO file twice, once for the
checksum, then again for the actual burning.

e.g. use this command to remove the old package:
sudo apt-get remove ekiga-gtkonly
The package ekiga-gtkonly no longer exist since Ubuntu Jaunty.

There many different issues here. I will stick to the first entry:
when I make echo test ,the call gets disconnected immediately.
I use ubuntu 8.10.
For other issues, please open new bugs or we wont be able to solve this

Upgrade to Intrepid causes ekiga to not detect sound device
when i disable my RV635 audio device [Radeon HD 3600 series] in the

I doubt port forwarding will solve the issue, because the ISP router
rewrite the packet at the SIP protocol level and you do not have access
to this router. :-/
You might ask your ISP to change this behaviour and stop rewriting SIP
packets with a private IP.

You changed the default setting; STUN is not enabled in your case.
The issue is Ekiga try to register using a private IP.
Enabling STUN might solve this issue:
Go to the Edit → Preferences → General Settings → Network Settings menu,
uncheck the Disable network detection.

the video). Make sure you have the levels up.

configured to do so, putting the call on hold will play hold music,
where mute will just disable your microphone.
I often join conference calls where I mainly listen, but sometimes

I've tried toggling the checkbox on and off for Ask before emptying
Garbage bin or deleting files
I'm still not getting a confirmation prompt which slightly annoys me.
Like other users, I don't use the Garbage Bin unless I have to so I'd

With that gnome-power-manager installed, the laptop won't sleep at all
when the lid is closed - even when inhibit is inactive - so I can't tell
if the inhibit applet is doing anything.
Inhibit does still prevent the laptop from shutting down or logging off,
when active.
