If the g-p-m autosarted, then it doesn't work. But if I remove it from

regarding the temporary fix (changing background of gnom-panel to solid) - no
need to log-off/in -
it is enough to kill gnome-panel (killall gnome-panel) and upon its resume

I've got a stacktrace of this now. I thought that this error was still
being reported asynchronously, but after some further debugging I'm
absolutely confident now that it isn't, and the BadMatch error here is
being triggered by a XGetWindowProperty call

I try to reproduce this error in Jaunty (x86) and rhythmbox 0.12 and
works fine for me (both functions). I don't have in this moment a AMD64
machine for trying to reproduce this but could be nice if somebody
working under this architecture can leave a comment if this did not
work.

For those of you who have not been able to mount password protected smb
shares, I had the same issue, and I did as described in this link and it
worked:

Hi, thanks for the bug report. This was a known problem in 8.10, and
has been fixed. You will need to change your password again, and from
that point on, it will correctly handle passwords greater than 8
