The problem is that glib is failing to start a thread with the
scheduling priority of the parent thread. In particular, eglibc is
reporting that the requested priority is out of range. So something
somewhere is deciding that I am not allowed to set the real-time
priority of a thread, which is obvio

On a dell studio 1737, after connecting a beamer, the resolution went

There were 2 black strips on the top and bottem ( 1350x768).

No, I tried to but it appeared unregularly. Once I had to put in the
power cord to let the Panel load (The power cord had been plugged in
when I shut down. When I rebooted I tried it several times with the
unplugged power cord and it didn't work.)

Tested on NVidias (but probably this does NOT matter!)
on ubuntu 9.04 amd64 (and possibly I seen it also on 8.10, not sure).
This happens when:
you switch into middle of fading-out (blackout) animation of screensaver (in
example from other VT).

On my ASUS A6VM Ubuntu 9.10 does not see SD cards in build-in card reader at
all, but it worked perfect in 9.04 and 8.10
lspci output:
