On Karmic, when I drag & drop an ogg file to the ipod, nothing happens.
There is no error message, which is annoying.
Running rhythmbox with --debug in a terminal produces the log message
"failed to find acceptable mime type".
Installing gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly-multiverse resolves the issue.
It appears I wasn't executing the script I thought I was. I'm now
certain I'm setting that variable to '1", and it now appears to work.
Pressing buttons no works.

system is very slow when I run gnome-desktop.
I tested the 32bit Ubuntu 9.10 on Lenovo think master with Intel core2
vipro (quad core) 4GB
Recently I found that my D300s "just worked". I assume this is due to

Thanks for the reply. I'm not able to reproduce the problem on my
computer. Could you check that the command "sudo usermod -d [PATH TO
HOMEDIR] [USER LOGIN]" works? If it does please follow the instructions
for the too "users-admin" at

I can play them fine on Karmic 9.10.
This will help determine if there is an encoding error in your file.
