I have the same problem after I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10.
Usually I edit the files I opened via a Nautilus FTP connection in Gedit.
Since upgrading I get a red warning box in gedit and have to save one or two
times more until it is saved via FTP.

I can confirm that. I have intermittent behaviour when it comes to
taking a screenshot of the current window that includes the window
borders: if the take screenshot window doesn't overlap the current
window, it fails completely; if the take screenshot window overlaps

Binary package hint: gdm
This isn't a serious issue, but a pinstripe appears on the desktop after
some use in Lucid. It's hard to see in the screenshot but it runs around
the perimeter of the desktop.
Rebooting gets rid of it, but it reappears again.

I have the same problem, maybe caused by enabling certain Karmic
repositories in my Jaunty in the hope of pulling the new Virtualbox (to
run Dustin Kirkland's testdrive). A small number of updates were
installed (despite my using Apt pinning which failed blatantly) - no
Virtualbox since that would
