I can confirm that when booting the my 9.10 kernel (2.6.31-20-generic)
the problem does not occur. Yet when booting the current Lucid kernel
the black screen occurs.

Was that plug-in not enabled by default for you? It is supposed to be.
The entire codebase has been re-written. Most features are now
implemented as plug-ins. Most are supposed to be enabled by default.

[lucid] downgrade to stable 2.10
Same as original report on Lucid Beta1. It started when I tried
scrolling to another desktop via hovering over the workspace switcher
and scrolling with the mouse. When it didn't work, I right clicked the
panel item and hit preferences to see if the feature was disabled, and
thats when everything
.avi (divx, xvid) .mkv etc. , substitles .txt, .sub
The option automaticly load substitles did`t work.
When I load substitles manually, it`s OK, but if I move the film (time
position), Totem lost substitles. I don`t seen them.

Please don't move the button locations Canonical.
Having the close buttons on the left side is the farthest away possible
location from the scroll bars on the right (where users spend a great
amount of time with their mice)
