Now I'll try testing by reinstalling nvidia-96 and then with just
nouveau.

changed the defaults. This also changes defaults to what they were in Jaunty:

I'm on a fairly disk / resource constrained machine but installed
apport-retrace and got the following stack trace (Lucid with an update
just this evening) from _usr_lib_gvfs_gvfsd-smb.1000.crash:

That 60-second science podcast breaks in rhythmbox, I also noticed the
download meter shows 130% and above while it is downloading!? Then it
doesn't show up as downloaded at all.

I have this problem too, but I've found something interesting which may
help figure out what's going on. Steps to reproduce:
1. Find an affected song in the collection, where the duration is Unknown in
the Time column.
2. Right-click, choose Properties.
3. Modify at least one of the tags (e.g.
