I was finally able to get this working.
The instructions given in #12 are half of the fix. Once you have the
icon put in the right place, you need to update the icon cache for the

Looks like the pkill gnome-panel by itself only fixed the problem
indefinitely for the build account. The subsequent user account which I
created breaks with every reboot (or logout/login). I tested making the
other user account a priv'd account, but this made no difference.

I would like to point out that the PPA I made is not official, and turns on
RGBA with (probably) different code than this bug uses. So, if you are using my
PPA and there is a problem with it, email me (I think my email is on my page on
launchpad) and I'll try to fix it.

My bug #571267 was marked as a dupe of this. I just wanted to add that
as stated on that page this only affected my 6 machines when compiz was
enabled. Once none for desktop effects was chosen the issue ceased on
each machine. I see others have noticed this as well.
BTW, issue is not recreated
This list is gonna get pretty long if we start listing out every single
app that doesn't follow the specification. The reason being that most
of them don't follow it. And will the Ubuntu developers now have to
keep adding in the follow the clipboard specification fix every time
one of these

The Fig. 1 does not show correctly in Evince, but it shows correctly in
Adobe Reader.
So I guess there is something wrong in Evince.
There is nothing in the foo.xml file. It would be the output file that
got written to if gtk-builder-convert were successful. But having
handed gtk-builder-convert an empty input file (/dev/null) the program
crashes instead of issuing an error message.

In 8.04 x64 I get a webcam configuration error. My laptop has a
