Launchpad kept giving me an information-free error popup whenever I hit
post and so I did not know it was actually posting until I hit

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This particular crash has already been reported and is a

I experienced this bug briefly just now. My report is similar to owen's
above.
My steps to reproduce:
1. Set BIOS boot order to: (1) CD Drive (2) HDD
2. Insert FreeDOS CD and boot
3. Select 'q' to quit the FreeDOS boot and boot from HDD
4. Log in and get the dialog A program is still running...
Temporary workaround:
As suggested by Milan Bouchet-Valat in bug #553746:
Note if you really need a specific profile for some users, have a look at
/etc/gnome-system-tools/user-profiles.conf, where you can add MinUID and
MaxUID options.
I needed a user with a UID of 1248 and this is what I
I see similar with my Lenovo x201 running Lucid. Often, if I suspend
with AC adapter attached then wake up without AC adapter the Gnome-
Power-Manager will show power consumption 10x too high and battery
'Energy when full' 10x too high. Consequently, the battery indicator
icon will show 10%

Hi everyone.
It appears this is still a problem in 10.04. Over the weekend my
evolution stopped receiving email in my inbox, checked the directory and
found the file size was greater than 2 gb. So I archived the mails,
deleted the original files, and restarted evolution but this did not
work, nor
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gdm
After upgrading from 9.10, gdm uses an unstyled GTK theme (as in, it
looks like Windows). I purged gdm, and removed /var/lib/gdm, and then
reinstalled gdm and the theme still isn't set properly.
Themes are fine for users once they log in.

Andrew, the gdm is the component which shows the login screen and the
user theme doesn't affect the gdm component.
Could you please provide a screenshot and attach it to this bug if I
have misinterpreted your description.

gdm doesn't
Steps to reproduce:
0. Launch xchat
1. Edit Preferences File Transfers
2. Click dropdown next to Download files to, note that it specifies
downloads
3. Choose Other..., note it pops up fileselector set to ~/.xchat2 with
downloads selected.
I agree this should be changed, but would suggest
I understand that the user theme is different than the gdm theme. I
thought gdm configuration was controlled partially by /var/lib/gdm/*,
but that could be incorrect. I've included the gconf info from the gdm
user as I thought that might be relevant.
I'm having trouble getting a screenshot; using
To me it sounds like you're seeing the default gdm login screen, but to
be sure please make a screenshot.

Hey Neil: I did do exactly that yesterday. It did not solve my problem,
