in this thread were to upgrade to 'Xorg Edger' ppa, and it fixed the
problems. ( even if I felt the overall was a bit 'slow' ... but not on

I was able to track the cause of this problem and find a workaround that
seems to work.
1 - Cause:
The event deconfiguring-networking is fired whenever
/etc/init.d/networking stop is called.

After some more trying I managed to find a way to reproduce the issue.
It's quite easy actually.
- Open Empathy
- Click on Edit - Accounts
- Close the Accounts dialog
After this it is not possible to open the Accounts dialog again.

that without dpi set in Xresources LibreOffice uses a font larger than

that it may be related to waking from sleep. One example is GConf

@dabas Empathy never had proxy support by default. So maybe you
installed a plugin or something and the upgrade disabled it. If it is
so, please tell me how did you get Empathy work with a proxy, so i could
do the same.

You must be mistaken about Empathy not supporting proxies, since it
wouldn't have worked for me behind a firewall otherwise, but I was using
it for a time (before upgrading to 11.10) with several outside resources
like Google Talk and Facebook Chat. I'm also sure I didn't do any
