Twice recently I have clicked a file in Nautilus, only to have it go
gray windowed and not respond. In the task manager it is

With the normal panel I can switch resolutions (only 4 choices - not all
available resolutions are shown here). I can't rotate the screen or use
an external monitor. Also, the screen shows up as unknown.

Funnily enough, I've started seeing this again just in the last few
days. The fact I'd forgotten about the problem suggests it must be
intermittent.
Right now, I double-click a file in Nautilus which opens it in gedit,
hit Ctrl+I to scroll to a given line in gedit, type the line and hit
enter.
Well... It happened again, but .crash file hasn't been created. So I suppose it
looks like crash, but it's not exactly it.
I've got other crash reports on the way, but nothing when this situation
happened.

I just encountered this bug myself. I had 4 different terminals open on
different workspaces. The workspace I was in had 1 terminal open with 2
tabs, I clicked and dragged the right tab and moved it to the left one,
I let go and then clicked on the display to deselect the tab. I entered
