I don't have much to add to the original excellent description. Using
64-bit on an Acer 5920 laptop. I'm trying to log into Ubuntu One,
keyring prompt pops up, and I get the same behavior as described above.
I'm left with two choices. Cancel, in which case Ubuntu One says I
cancelled a prompt

I've experienced this bug too - I have a MacBookPro 8,2, with the latest
updates. I was trying to lower the intensity of the keyboard backlight
(on the F5 key, but to get a real F5 I have to press Fn+F5). My theme
disappeared, scrollbars and buttons reverted to old look.

Dmitriy: Yes it is a dirty hack :) I don't know of any other
applications that would increment the backlight up and down, and GNOME's
ability to set the brightness to a specific percentage (without going
through steps inbetween) *should* still be functional with it...although
even the unpatched
Here's a completed valgrind run (14MB log), of moving about 158000
files. The process took many hours... Speed went down from 1MB/s in the
beginning to 200kB/s at the end, and memory use gradually went up from
512M to 4.0G.

Yes the problem is reproducible every time (with Unity, XFCE and
Cinnamon desktops). In addition to comment #5, the problem apparent to
user is also that the dialog can be minimized and while it sits
secretly in dash or some taskbar the whole desktop looks not functioning
- windows do not react
A kind of workaround is to disable autologin so password is always
entered at login time and the dialog does not come up. But on my home
computer I would prefer to login without entering password.

This is not light-themes fault, I've seen this behavior since my first
days with Ubuntu (9.04 then) so this is really an ancient bug since
GTK+2. You can also see this behavior with other menus placed at bottom
of screen, such as the theme selector combobox in Appearance panel of
Control Center.

I had this problem, during an upgrade from Oneiric to the beta of
Precise, tonight. For me, it turned out to be a corrupt .deb file,
probably the fault of my hardware. It looks like I'm all set now, so
