After an update several days ago my Dell E6520 with the intel CPU built in
graphics does not suspend when an external display is attached and I close the
lid. It suspends from the power menu and also on lid close id there is no
external display attached.

reassigning to cups since the the submitter wrote
when i print to .ps, evince still shows the file right, but when i
submit it with lp to the printer, the problem is the same as when
printing directly from evince.

several times I think, you should check bugzilla.gnome.org if you are
interested in the details, the intend is to not suspend on lid close for
docked configs since closing the lid for those is not a clear intend to
suspend
there is no gnome-settings-daemon error in that, if you stop the running
instance, run a gnome-settings-daemon --debug from a command line, lock
the screen and go back is it still running?

This caught me on upgrading from oneiric to precise, so it is still a problem.
I would suggest that the remove script (or a separate tool?) searches known
methods for setting the wall paper (unity-2d, unity-3d, gnome2, gnome3, xfce,

I'm having the same problem. I killed -9 g-s-d and restarted it with
--debug. After the restart it's not using 100% cpu now, but it kept
giving (gnome-settings-daemon:31887): libappindicator-CRITICAL **:
app_indicator_set_label: assertion `IS_APP_INDICATOR (self)' failed
about twice per second,
O, and also dconf-service was doing lots of I/O at the same time. Not
sure if it is related, but lots of dconf activity and g-s-d spinning
happened before and the red hat bug mentions it as well.

Easymp3gain Hangs when clicking Add File or Add Folder
Did upstream indicate why they think the document is buggy? I omitted
most of the text to make the document smaller so if all you see is some
capital letters and a PNG then you're seeing it right. I attached a
screenshot of the Evince screen output which is exactly as it is
intended to print.

I have Dell Inspiron 1520 and Ubuntu 12.04 fresh install, and it also
doesn't completely turns off. Have to force the shutdown by holding the

After a recent update, Nautilus now behaves properly if I killall
nautilus and then restart it, after pugging in the external monitor. If
I have Nautilus running and I plug in the monitor, it still behaves as
showin the screenshots that I provided.
It's good progress, but I still want to keep

build now and be available in a few hours. Please test and give feedback
