Hello there,
yesterday I created an example file with lilypond. It generates a high-
quality .pdf file that I have attached to this bug.
When printed with evince (evince 3.4.0-0ubuntu1) the quality decreases
drastically. It looks like evince removes the nicely done

and .ogg fine. But Totem does play the .mp3 files from smb://.

Ok, with some help from mterry who is able to reproduce this quite
easily, it looks like we've determined that what happens is something in
set_disable_w_typing() writes 0x0 to the %ebx register and doesn't
restore its original contents (%ebx must be preserved by the callee as
per the SysV i386
Note, you can observe that %ebx still contains 0x0 when it crashes in
the PLT.
As a workaround, you can turn off disable touchpad whilst typing, as
it is something specific to the codepath which enables this
functionality. I guess everyone experiencing this does actually have a
touchpad? (I hope

problem.
/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/xdiagnose/assistant.py
has some old-style print statements, from line 72-80. You may not need
a patch that just puts in the parentheses, but I'll attach one in case

Here is the small patch for gnome-screensaver's apport hook. There was
one old print statment to fix, and a few tabs, mixed among spaces, that
had to be removed.

For dkms, I wasn't sure of the most proper python3 form, for the print
statments redirected to stderr. So I let the 2to3 tool generate this
patch. It fixes those print statements, and one exception statement,
where the syntax now requires 'as'.
