It's not a bug, it's a feature. Yeah, right. Who's idea was it to say
this isn't a bug? And then you need to install some other app to
override it? I tried the recommended operations above, and it still
didn't work for me. This is totally bogus.

that the 'dialog box' which says 'battery cricital, plug in charging'
doesn't go away when one plugs in the charger. I think the 'dialog box'

I don't know if it is a symptom (or it might be misleading), but it seems to
work on lan, but crashes on wan. I know it is not router settings or similar as
filezilla shows no problem in either case.

I had this same issue and same solution.
I believe it was caused by using etckeeper to restore files in /etc
(including /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow).

dconf-editor fixed my problem. It appears to me that setting-deamon cannot
handle display with excisting nvidia-setting.

The key to reconfigure Video Out is hard coded to Superp in gnome-
settings-daemon. This conflicts with long-standing existing usage by
emacs and is unconfigurable. The patch to make it configurable via dconf
