This bug affected me on a previous release of Ubuntu,
but it's no longer happen in an up to date Ubuntu 13.10.

I just tried rhythmbox 3.0.1, from ppa:jacob/media, on top of 13.10, and

How to reproduce :
Keep close the chat window (not all, assume you will going to chat with
friend A). When A will send you new messages, notification will be shown
and messaging menu's color will change as new message arrive. Now open
friend A's chat window (from
A few versions of Ubuntu and EOG passed and in EOG v3.8.2 (Ubuntu 13.10)
this bug is still there. I have watched a few dozen images in eog and
not it is using 1.3 GB of memory! Am I kidding? No! See the attached
