Not sure what is wrong. I can reproduce on ubuntu 14.04, but not on
14.10, but that is probably because I am not using gnome-panel from
ubuntu packages.

I have three podcast streams. Sometimes rhythmbox crashes on startup. I
believe this is tied to a specific crash that occurs consistently, here's dmesg
(several crashes in a row trying to update all streams):

selecting menu or use right mouse, gnome-terminal is crashes all

A work-around (works for me, but barely a bug fix):
- Disable the shortcuts you set in step 3
- install compizconfig-settings-manager and compiz-plugins
- start compizconfig-settings-manager, go to Window Management and enable
Put
- select Put and set your shortcuts in Put to arbitrary viewport

I can confirm the exact same behavior on Ubuntu 14.04 with a Spanish
keyboard. I'm not sure whether it's systematic or intermittent, since I
think I rarely search for such characters, and I hadn't observed this
until now.
I've observed a similar but INTERMITTENT behavior on both Chrome and
Public bug reported:

keyboard - shortcuts - custom
It gets called when I press the assigned key, but now I want to edit the
command, since there was a typo or because I want to modify it.

Maybe this is a separate bug: When I edit the NAME of an existing custom
shortcut, it gets assigned the keybinding of a DIFFERENT existing shortcut.
I think everything is getting scrambled around.
