To reproduce start an lxde desktop with lubuntu on vivid. Then launch
customize look and feel under prefrences in switch the widget to
clearlooks. Then open software updater and have and notice if it finds
updates to try and expand the detail on those updates you will not see
Well, what is strange is that lsmod does not show fglrx. So it may be
that I installed fglrx but am not using it and still it seems to have
helped.-(

Wow, what a day. Hoping for relieve on this bug I apt-get install'ed
xfce. It has the same problem with a crashing settings-deamon (it has
its own). And I noticed that even xrandr just crashed on, what I think,
where completely sane inputs with a floating point exception. And I did
not really like

Workaround:
Edit ${HOME}/.gnupg/gpg-agent.conf
Add:
default-cache-ttl 86400 # default-cache-ttl in secondes, here
representing 24 hours.
Logout for this to take effect.

MatatTHC, could you please address the following:
+ What version of Ubuntu are you currently using?
+ Could you please unplug all USB devices from your computer, plug in only the
OfficeJet 6500 USB device, immediately place the following in a terminal and
attach the uncompressed results:
lsusb -v
The problem is still occuring on the OfficeJet 6500. The printout is
shifted to the top of the paper if the margin is small sometimes a part
of the page is missing. It happens with any printed pdf from evince. I
do not know if it affects also other pdf viewers like acrobat or other
programs like
