I tested this in an Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 GNOME 3.20 64-bit VM and found that with the new update the issue goes away and the problem here is fixed. Although it should be noted that after updating to the new version it shows any mounted partitions with a long gobbledygook name in the sidebar when
