I see the same leak you do when interacting with the panel. In fact,
just pressing the Meta key twice to bring up and hide the overview leaks
1 MiB of RAM each time. Even switching workspaces leaks memory. These
are all things that jank once gnome-session's footprint has grown to

Thanks. Please complete the test and describe the results here.
I think we might soon be able to group this with bug 1718654.
** Summary changed:
- mouse not working(laptop) when i suspend it or lock it
+ Touchpad not working after resuming from suspend
** Also affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu)
Please install 'evtest':
sudo apt install evtest
and then test your touchpad before and after suspending by running:
sudo evtest
Does evtest still show events after suspend? (I'm wondering if the
kernel isn't sending them or libinput or above is ignoring them)
** Changed in: gnome-shell
well yes I mean touchpad I have not tried with mouse I will do the test
and update earlier everything was fine with 17.04

Ah yep, that would do it. Just be sure to have the script check the
username, because even if you're on a single-user system the gdm user
also runs a gnome-shell:
#!/bin/sh
if [ $USER = your_username_here ] ; then exec valgrind --tool=massif
--num-callers=32

Please install 'evtest':
sudo apt install evtest
and then test your mouse before and after suspending by running:
sudo evtest
Does evtest still show events after suspend when the cursor is frozen?
Also, do you mean touchpad rather than an external mouse?
