Literally this been reported thousands of times and AFTER A YEAR of NO

After upgrading from Ubuntu 18.04 to 18.10, my Xbox 360 controller
doesn't work any more. After reloading xpad per modprobe it works again:

Today, 8 years later :), I cannot say something new regarding this bug - I even
don't have this camera any more. For me you can close this bug now and try to
solve other more important bugs.
But I can say that usb read/write is still slow on Ubuntu 18.10 in comparison

Exactly, they are two completely different, unrelated things, and if the
Nautilus devs can't understand something as elementary as that, Ubuntu
shouldn't be using software developed by those people

This is a very very very basic functionality for any file explorer;
something any new application should add. Taking it out of a software
that has already had it for years and annoying people who rely on it is
simply illogical.

Modules in newly Gtk releases started in GTK-4.0 and upper.

should endeavour to have decent default options, and if multiple use
cases can be accommodated without an option, then that is preferable.

When the issue occurs, there may not be any system response at all.
Based on the size of the file, I assume it is cumulative over several
boots.
