Night Light is not functioning

Freshly installed, so no extensions.
The problem happens *only* on Logitech M185 mouse. Did not observe it with
other mice. When bug happens touchpad on Dell XPS 13 (2019) stops working in
the same fashion

Now I found out that it depends on whether I login with Xorg or Wayland.
Night Light works with Xorg, but doesn't with Wayland.
I honestly don't remember whether I was running Disco with Xorg or Wayland,
most probably I just went with the default. My guess is that Disco used Xorg by
default and

I have confirmed that it will not crash if I have a single monitor.
In duel monitor mode, i can also reconfirm that after updating
(strangely) Chrome browser that the window manager will crash, but will
restart -- prior to the update it would crash and not restart.

After upgrading to ubuntu 19.10 (and mutter 3.34.1), I cannot
consistently reproduce it as I used to before (vscode tab drag or chrome
bookmark drag) but I still managed to get it randomly while upgrading
some gnome extension
