the monitor scaling is forgotten

I have a recent install of 19.10 on a macbook and an external LG

On a fully updated Ubuntu 19.10, I feel most of my problems occur, when
copying from a Wayland application, and pasting to an XWindow
application. Most of the time, that doesn't work at all.
As an example. Running my Firefox as a native Wayland application, I am
experiencing problems copying a
Public bug reported:
My HP Envy 5030 driver in Ubuntu 19.10 allows for double sided and
multiple copy printing, however, I am experiencing an issue where only
one copy prints.
It prints fine, double sided, but only one copy is spooled.
Looking at the bug list here, there was a similar issue
To add a bit of background: the IETF (standards body for the Internet)
decided to change the format of their newly published standards from
ASCII text to XML. From this XML both HTML and PDF versions are

I am using the DisplayLink driver for Ubuntu provided at
https://www.displaylink.com/downloads/ubuntu, which I think is the only
way to get DisplayLink fully working under Ubuntu? That is, DisplayLink

Public bug reported:
I don't know what causes it but frequently I see my journalctl being
spammed with gnome-shell errors (see attached journalctl snippet). If I

I've had this happen a number of times again on a fresh 19.10 install,
with no extra extensions enabled.
It seems to happen when an app isn't responding for a handful of seconds
and trying to switch between apps via Alt+Tab or between workspaces. A
SIGSTOP would probably be enough to simulate the
Public bug reported:
On waking from, generally a long sleep, my laptop loops in gdm. I get a
continuous stream of:
Nov 20 15:34:15 X1 /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[2674]: (--) modeset(0): HDMI max
TMDS frequency 31KHz
Nov 20 15:34:16 X1 /usr/lib/gdm3/gdm-x-session[2674]: (II) modeset(0): EDID
I can confirm that priv's workaround from post #17 works.
