Assuming the screen is really locked then this bug is the responsibility
of gnome-shell.
Although if gnome-shell crashed when the screen blanked then you might
be returned to the login screen.
Which is it? Can you provide a photo of the lock screen?

BertN45: The only error that stands out to me in your log is that the
vmwgfx kernel driver keeps logging:
kernel: [drm:vmw_msg_ioctl [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to open channel.
If that's the problem then it's a bug in the kernel (where the vmwgfx
driver lives) and/or the hypervisor.

This is because "> /proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_instances" is not part of what
sudo executes. The command is interpreted by your shell as follows:
The autopkgtest regressions blocking systemd 248.3-1ubuntu8.5 in impish-

network/infrastructure issues and succeeded on retry, or by (2)
unrelated snapd regressions. The systemd 248.3-1ubuntu8.5 upload added

about moving the new lines you added below this line:

Thank you for the bug report.
It's likely due to the missing gnome-desktop translations described on

translators/2022-April/007818.html
and should be fixed in the next langpack refresh

Looks like the problem is that Yaru uses an external border (outside the
white area) while GNOME default uses an internal border. So different
rendering paths.
While a fix could potentially be implemented in Yaru, a proper fix would
still be the responsibility of gnome-shell.
