Good news.. I just figured out that running "killall gnome-panel" twice kills gnome-panel and it stops reopening. With that I could run the full 'strace' and the 'gdb' Both gziped in attach! Also, running it ind commandline, I got this and it stops as expected. rica...@ricardo-laptop:~$ gnome-p
