John, have you tried disabling the exchange plugin from the main menu
of Evolution. I found this was the problem on my install.

LDAP was causing me heaps of problems, but the Bug is not specific to
Ubuntu. It appears that a plugin in Evolution (installed by default) is
at fault. It is highly likely that your LDAP settings are fine, you just
need to disable the Exchange Operations plugin. To do this, click Edit,

appears. Dragging an ISO into the box and clicking write to CD, nautilus

I totally agree. I'm new to this beta testing thing, and have heaps to
learn. As mentioned previously, I have had no system freezes since
dropping the colour depth. I will read up on how to do a backtrace and
will then open a bug in xorg.

It might well be hardware, but I have been running Breezy for so long
with this machine, I'm unsure as to why this issue happened at the same
time as changing to Dapper. I will try with a live CD and see what
happens.
I am not a programmer, so I can only guess as to what is
Evolution is still freezing my system even with the latest release. Sometimes
it happens just when opening Evolution, sometimes when flicking back and forth
between email and browsing.

I tried running gdb as above, but evolution froze the system and I had to
reboot. Is
