Yes it is a duplicate from 631428.
Don't understand why sudo apt-get remove telepathy-butterfly should
change anything?
Have tried sudo apt-get remove telepathy-butterfly and then sudo apt-get
install

..and yes tested that in case of some strange reason it should work, and
it didn't. Problem still exists.

Click on Edit Personal Information Click on the Change avatar
picture and choose a picture. Click on close.
Go back to Edit Personal Information and the picture is not there as
expected.
You can also try to chat with friends and on the left

Same problem here, Evince 2.28.1 on Ubuntu 9.10 (2.6.31) and several HP
network printers (LaserJet 9050 and Color LaserJet 4650). All went fine
till few days ago, but now I had to use different readers, as the
Acrobat or gv, which run smoothly.
