You need the nvidia-bl-dkms package installed AFAIK. I think pommed has
been deprecated, so I would suggest removing it. This may be of some
help (even though it's for Macbook5,1):

It turns out I had Check incoming messages for junk enabled in
Preferences Mail Preferences Junk. Even though I had junk filtering
disabled for all accounts in Mail Accounts. Now I don't experience this
anymore.
I wouldn't call this fixed though. First instead of piling on

My bad. It looked to me like I have the exact same issue, so reopening
seemed like the right thing to do :)
I've searched launchpad and there seems to be a lot of bugs filed around
wrong email counts. I guess I'll just wait for some patches to be issued
and see if that resolves it for me.

I'm still affected by this bug in Intrepid with all updates applied.
I've attached a screen shot. The email count is wrong in my search
folders. It is correct in the individual IMAP folders.
Running evolution from command line didn't show anything useful. I'm
reopening the bug.
