(me too) confirm Alt-Shift keyboard layout switch incompatible with Alt-
Shift-Tab Window switching in reverse in Ubuntu 10.10...
This bug is set to Low/Medium priority, but what are the recommended
work-arounds? Alt-Shift is an obvious keyboard layout switch because it
is default in Windows.
This bug (duplicate of
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/307798) is set to low
priority. However, this effects EVERY non-English speaking apt-get user.

Has not worked in 9.04 nor 9.10 clean installs. I've removed the compiz
package and restarted. Alt-Shift-Tab still not working (switches forward
through app list) -- affects multiple machines.

WORK-AROUND

Keyboard Layout switching was set to Alt-Shift. After disabling
Keyboard Layout Options Key(s) to change layout, then Alt-Shift-
Tab does display applications in reverse!
(I would still consider this a bug as both Alt-Shift and Alt-Shift-Tab
are standards in other window

If one unselects View Show Menubar
then there isn't a way to get the menu bar back. At least it isn't clear to me.
There does not seem to be a keyboard shortcut either. It seems necessary to be
able to get the menubar back once removed.
