This is kind of unrelated to the burning issue, but since I mentioned here that
DVDs burned with Hardy are not WinXP compatible, I should also mention the

The compatibility issue with Windows XP (my comment 2008-05-30) seems to
be related to DVD authoring, not to burning. I use dvdauthor and
growisofs to burn DVDs and they seem to produce Windows XP incompatible
DVDs since upgrade to Hardy. I tried making an ISO image using mkisofs
