This problem seems to have been fixed in the meantime, the Garmin is now
automounted when in USB Mass Storage mode. I didn't notice it right away
because it takes quite some time until that happens, but it happens
eventually. Thanks guys.

Yes, I'm very sure I'm running Gnome. This is a Karmic Netbook Remix, installed
from the release candidate CD (and updated).

I had added the resource to the entity as suggested by Dafydd and so
gossip 0.10.1 worked, and 0.10.2 has correctly converted that to use the
entity, so it still works.
