Also if file-roller is installed by right-click on a .zip file in the drop-down
menu i don’t see the option ‘Open with archive manager’ as i had in Ubuntu

Installed hplip, removed and installed printer: now printer works fine:
test page ant txt document successfully printed.

after installing system-config-printer-common printer SEEMS installed but does

Ubuntu 23.10 with cups snap try to print a pdf. Press print: the window says:
'Getting printer information...' press Preview: Failed to print document the
selected printer "default" could not be found.
But i selected 'pri3' but I chose pri3 which is a working printer: the
