I have the same problem. Empathy doesn't show MSN contacts (it works for
facebook contacts). I see the debug messages on butterfly and shows the
contact's e-mails.

I use another MSN account and it shows the contact. My main MSN account
has more than 900 contacts. Is it possible this bug to related to the
number of the contacts?
