Hi!
The first instructions yielded a ton of data, both before and after
insertion, so I carefully did just as you outlined, seem to have gotten
it right on the first shot (nothing like practice!) and thanks to your
clear reminders of the instructions. You're a great teacher for folks
like me wit
I'm attaching the data in the gedit Text Editor file as requested. It
printed out lots of data, so I'll wait until I hear from you again,
before I do anything else. If you need anything further, don't hesitate
to ask.
Sincerely,
Doris

Here is the attachment with the bug report data from running "rhythmbox
-d" and inserting CD while program was running in Terminal. Mission
accomplished, I hope? Let me know if there's anything else I need to
do.

Well...maybe not.
I opened Rhythmbox, but where am I supposed to type what I was supposed to
type? It's not the same as the thingie that opened when I was supposed to type
the other command. I can't remember what I
did to get that little window that ran the "apport..." command.

Oh, yes, that I can understand, I think. I'll try to do it now.
You're so good at explaining things. Sorry I didn't see the connection.
I didn't really know what "terminal" meant in that context.
Thank you!

Hi,
I am trying to do this, but the more I read it the more sure I am that I
have no idea what I am supposed to do. I am functionally semi-
illiterate when it comes to most of the jargon. I only know the terms
I've specifically been taught, and with no one really to ask anything
of, that's a p
Yes, okay,
I'll certainly do whatever I can, and I wish you all the best,

Yes, thank you,
I compared the two screenshots, and yes, absolutely, the item "Devices"
has never appeared on the left-hand menu, when the CD is inserted;
nothing at all happens.
It baffles me, because the system or whatever does it, maybe the right
word is driver (?) I don't really speak the la
Hi,
Yes, I think I can do that. But to clarify, when a CD is inserted, the
"Unknown" which used to appear, before the upgrade ran, doesn't appear,
and that seems to be the problem, in that when I clicked on it, before,
the tracks showed up and then played just fine. Now nothing shows up
and the
Thank you!
I'm so grateful, and until I receive further instructions I'll just
enjoy. Now I can start using the DVD I was sent, to learn Quebecois
French, too, maybe! I'll try it tomorrow. Just gonna soak up the Joni
Mitchell tonight.
Perseverance triumphs!

Hello!
I did what you suggested, it took me two tries, but I believe I got it
right the second time.
The first time I was confused as to what I needed to authorize, but once
I'd done it wrong, not authorizing access to reading and changing
private data, I saw there was a new message in the termi

Okay, I looked at the picture. My computer tower has only the USB

which seems to be for "recordable CD's" and another, 2/3 size (narrower,
too small for a CD) slot whose use is a mystery to me.
