I believe this is a duplicate of 1024800 (or the other way around). The
idea there that the Keyboard Layout dialog is misbehaving seems to make
sense.

Confirmed here too -- it's only the applet that gets stuck. The problem
occurs both after suspend-to-RAM and suspend-to-disk.

It is quite annoying that gossip won't try to reconnect to the server
automatically after suspend-resume, or after the internet connection
