Binary package hint: eog
If i open eog with an image and i press alt-enter in order to see
metadata, everything works fine.
But if the image name contains %20 , eog segfaults.
$eog IMG_5730.JPG
[everything ok ]
$ mv IMG_5730.JPG IMG_5730%20.JPG
$ eog IMG_5730%20.JPG [
Also for me is very annoying for new users that are trying ubuntu (
after 5 minutes or so most people find this bug, and someone could think
damn, ubuntu isn't yet ready for normal desktop usage ) and not only.

F-Spot puts photos in Photos folder not Pictures folder
Martin, it's disabled also for me. But nothing changes with that
checkbox...

I have found this problem too. Is there a way to disable f-spot import
when i plug in an sd-card?

On a fresh 8.04.1 install, with italian locales, i don't have a ~/Photos
directory.
But when i for example insert an sd-card with pictures, f-spot complains
with this message:
