testing on 14.04 and have the same issue, default avatar view takes too
much space from the list and cannot set the view to compact.

WORK AROUND same as #7.
I just ran into this. I had removed a cd by pressing the eject button on
the drive. The ejected cd's icon remained on the desktop.
I put my blank cd in. dragged in a few files, hit burn and got stuck on

Yes but the same way i can mount normal CDs i should be able to mount
Blank CDs for burning while hal-disable-polling is set.

sudo hal-disable-polling --device /dev/scd0 'hal'
You wont be able to burn CDs, Nautilus says that there's a problem with
the mounting options, and programs like brasero just don't detect the
