At the very least it should have a tooltip with an explanation or there
should be a help button for displays.

Oh but the problem was there with the Ubuntu repository as well. I just
installed the other package because it was supposed to maybe solve the
problem.

Is that true for all contacts when using Jabber or just this one? Maybe it
would be good to put a notice in the call section of empathy?
