The facts are that :
- gnome-default-applications-properties looks for mozilla-thunderbird and
thunderbird executables and show corresponding entries in the menu (Mozilla
Thunderbird and Thunderbird),

As noticed by Sitsofe Wheeler, 5.1 surrond sound works great in totem
except for audio only file when visualizations is used. Therefore I
unmarked bug #323298 as a duplicate of this one (that now could be
marked as fixed).

I've got a trouble that I tink is directly related to this bug.
When my screen is lock (idle time or resume), I see the screensaver, enter my
password, and the screensaver keeps running like a kind of animated wallpaper.
I just have to kill the process to be able to use my computer normally.
Does it prevent you to use your computer normally after the lock of the
screen ? This may be related to bug #338371 or bug #336592

gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg which will allow you to read mp3 file but not to

The same happened to me. I just locked the screen (Ctrl+Alt+L) and then I
wasn't able to enter my session. gnome-screensaver didn't show me the lock
screen whit password field.
When I click with the mouse, the screensaver disappears and the mouse appears
above the black screen for about one
Sorry for my previous comment : it's not really exact. In fact usplash sometime
appears, sometime doesn't, with the same gdm custo conf file.

The behavior changed in Intrepid, but it's not good so far.
Now, each time you launch gdmsetup, it will add 3 empty line more into
/etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom beetween current GraphicalTheme directive and

In fact the bug reappears at next reboot (after removing 3 empty lines).
I tried again by adding 3 empty line between [greeter] and [chooser] in
gdm.conf-custom and the bug disappears again. Someone may confirm this
behavior.

I've done diff on gdm.conf and gdm.conf-custom files only. There is no
differences in gdm.conf but there is these empty lines in gdm.conf-custom.
So if someone who still have the bug can try to edit gdm.conf-custom, remove
these 3 lines (if they exist) and test it, it whould be helpfull.

I try to connect to a ftp server where locale is iso8859-15 (french).
The server answer with emphasized characters and nothing is displayed in
nautilus. If you try using ftp command, it show something (even if there
is ? instead of emphasized
How to configure : it may be difficult for you because it is wu-ftpd
server running on Solaris 2.7. I think this could be reproduce with an
ftp server running on a old linux distribution.

No I haven't made a mistake. I put an other example. Here we want to do the
same thing except that we also need to patch the source.

- get the source : apt-get source (instead of wget)
- build environment for compilation : apt-get build-dep
- patch the source (this wasn't done

I have the opposite trouble.
I tried to create a tar of a folder containing a link, an it just take huge of
time wheras :
- the folder contain just one small file and the link.
