I can add that this happens because of GNOME also, not jsut X.org. If i
set alt-shift in xorg.conf for layout change, and for ctrl-shift in
gnome, the ctrl-shift-u or ctrl-shift-s etc. shortcuts DO NOT work.
It just changes the layout. So it's not X.org.

Does anybody know if this is true only in GTK shipped with Ubuntu or is
it with all GTK?

I noticed that resizing Thunar windows is faster if you use the default
location toolbar, the one with the buttons. Using the location bar where you
can type in the location is slower.

I've installed libcairo2_1.5.4-0ubuntu1~ppa1_i386.deb (which required
libpixman-1-0, BTW) but it changes nothing. Can you test LCD subpixel
rendering on your system with above settings in ~/.fonts.conf? Is it
work for you?

After copy I got blocked DVD-drive. DVD was reading all the time. I
couldn't unmount it, so I used pin for eject. After that I ejected DVD,
but DVD-drive was working all the time. I think it is a serious bug!

In Dapper Gnome doesn't hang DVD.
Now I think problem is DVD drive support in Ubuntu.
Because in Ubuntu drive can't find some tracks during playing video from
DVD+RW. So it continuosely seeks track and after 2 minutes stops playing of
DVD+RW.
Also the speed of reading is too slow.
In Windows
Also I can't copy AVI films from DVD+RW.
Gnome gives message about I/O error during copying files.
So I think it is bad support of my DVD drive in Linux.

that's because i have make my question. i don't know if it is a special
turboprint problem or a general problem with ubuntu-print.
so again: are there any people using turboprint who have applied the
patch above? is it working or
i have tested a little bit more. printing with evince works fine!
but when i try to print with acroread nothing happens and i have to turn
off and on my printer to print with evince again.

I tryed to open these AVIs by XMMS and totem-xine.
The result is the same - hang DVD. The lens of DVD-drive brokenly moves trying
to read the disc.
