This is very much still a bug in Jaunty, post alpha 6
Drag on it's own copies (which I think is incorrect - it should MOVE by
default - who wants to duplicate menu items?)
Drag-ctrl removes the +, indicating it is going to copy, but this is not
allowed.
(The focus moves to the destination
well, i think that it is a bug because when i do that places will not
close if i do not click on the panel.

instead of throwing an indecipherable error message would be the desired
behaviour. this doesn't seem like a dangerous default. At least, could
it say this folder was intended to be unzipped somehwere else

I have the same with repeated insertions of the same audio CD.
Only one entry appears in Nautilus places, but each iterations adds
another desktop icon. All the desktop icons for the CD disappear when I
eject it.

This bug has been around for a long time and is really annoying... any
chance of fixing it? I use Skype and my Plantronics USB headset as my
main telephone, and I've got to deal with this constantly.
While we're at it, there are some other features that would be great to have
with USB headsets:

I'm on a Radeon, configured my xorg with aticonfig --initial=dual-
head. The first screen goes blank (as I'm using the Blank Screen
screensaver) but my second stays unchanged. I get no password prompt on

I have additional information on what causes this problem, reopening.
I was trying to get my home folder to be my Desktop so I moved
everything in ~/Desktop to my home folder and deleted ~/Desktop. After a
Ctrl+Alt+Backspace I saw that my desktop was the contents of my home
folder. It seems that
I've applied all fixes and still experience the problem.

Had this exact problem. My dbus daemon wasn't exporting the
$DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS env var. You can test if this is your problem
by checking:
echo $DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS

Another way to solve this problem is to use the full path to the
.xmodmap file. In my situation, changing the path in sessions from
~/.xmodmap to /home/jack/.xmodmap allowed xmodmap to load properly.
