Ok everyone, I've attempted to use the update manager in a live-usb, and it
shows the update for gnome-software. So, a fresh install should receive the
update without using the console.
It looks like that those who've tested the patch will have to update via:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get
H... I've just noticed that by running 'sudo apt-get upgrade' shows
that there is an update for the gnome-software, but the GUI (Software
Updater) doesn't show it. Maybe it's lacking a dependency.

Yeah applying the patch (submitted by Ricardo) to the source of
system-tools-backends works very nice.

I am having a similar problem. The result of a large string of numbers
added together does not display once enter is pressed. The result can
be seen by maximizing/restoring the window.

This is a me too for zanonmark's comment (altough in reverse, as Charles
Twardy). I am using Hardy, been using Gutsy and Feisty. All of them had
the same issue. Perhaps it has something to do with having upgraded and
not made a fresh install? Or something to do with my locale? (btw my
LANG
Some recent upgrade has fixed this issue, at least for me. Now I can
work with ICS perfectly fine.
