one of the updates over the last few days seems to have fixed this for
me. Don't know about the other 8 people so I'm not closing the bug.

Sometimes (~30-50% of the time) I click on a menu in the gnome-panel
(Applications, Places or System), the menu opens on top of the panel and
does not expand to its full size but displays a scroll-arrow at the top.

Today, after a reboot and quite a few upgrades, I can't reproduce the
error any longer.
