I am experiencing this exact problem on an nVidia Quadro 160M, latest binary nvidia driver, latest version of vte and both xfce terminal and gnome-terminal (in Gentoo).
Did this get reported to gnome.org, already, and if so, can somebody link to it? Do we know what application this should be filed under?
