I confirm this is still a problem in Precise Beta 2.
If this can't be fixed, then the auto-spell-check feature should
probably be removed.

It's true that the toggle changes, but on my system the magnifier does
not appear or in fact magnify.

I'm not convinced that this is a GNOME bug. First of all, it doesn't
appear in other distributions (at least not in Fedora). Second, given
the fairly radical changes that Ubuntu has made to the user interface in
recent versions (e.g. Unity), I wouldn't be surprised if loss of

Wouldn't it be easier just to add a check-box to the dialog box in
nautilus-share that says Allow sharing when user is logged off.? It
seems that a whole separate GUI is redundant.

I used to have this issue, but I believe it was fixed in lucid-updates.
Sorry, I don't recall the exact bug. The problem, as I recall, was that
the fade-out from a logout set the screen gamma to zero, and this was
not restored. Do you still have this problem with a fully-updated lucid?

Hello Robert,
I tried your gcalctool from the PPA and I can confirm that the shortcut
keys work. This is definitely a step in the right direction.
If the main problem with improving gcalctool is a lack of time or
manpower, I can help you. I will be happy to work on the code myself, if

Hi Robert,
Thanks for your response. Well, it's not March yet, so I obviously
haven't seen version 5.29.92, but even with the mentioned changes, I
remain unsure.
For example, even with the addition of the keyboard shortcuts, I need to
remember to take an extra step when entering non-decimal
I agree. This is a real deal-breaker for me. The only thing that I use
the calculator for is to convert between hex/dec/bin and that is now
very difficult. As far as I can tell, there is no way to set the default
input base to be something other than decimal. As a result, every time I
enter a hex

Could this problem be solved with extended attributes? Nautilus-share could add
an extended attribute to each shared folder, which would contain a unique
identifier, which would map into its list of known shared folders? This, it
seems, would be a more reliable solution than

This is not a duplicate. 400830 has to do with creating a new folder

be). This bug has to do with renaming an existing folder, which WILL

It seems to me that this bug is likely a security problem, as the user
could inadvertently share information that was supposed to be private.
Furthermore, it is clearly unexpected, inconsistent behavior that is
confusing and partially negates the benefit of having a sharing GUI at

Has anyone seen the services GUI used by Fedora? It's pretty nice, much

Hi. I have this problem under up-to-date Jaunty. When running users-

I'm not sure you can solve this by extending the Nautilus plugin

nautilus-share should still consider the file un-shared.
Here's my idea (please keep in mind that
