The menu option 'Stop & Quit' from the Rhythmbox icon isn't working on
my installation.
And Rhythmbox has started playing jerkily.

File Roller doesn't recognise an archive file as a tar file unless it
ends .tar.
Whereas it recognises .r01 .r02 etc as rar files

nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in gdk_property_change()

Nautilus 3.8.2
Nautilus has just started displaying this behaviour on my system today,
when opening as a normal user. I think all of the zero-byte files -
almost all old windows files e.g. wmv - have been there for over a year,
but after deleting them Nautilus opens.

NTFS drive with 755 and 644 permissions - fstab options include:
uid=1000,gid=1000,dmask=0022,fmask=0133
Whilst saving a copy of a PDF to the NTFS drive, and pressing the Create
folder button, I can enter the name of the new folder but
I'm getting this problem in 12.10 - a fresh install - with my ext4 /Home
partition.
It's intermittent and restarting Nautilus or rebooting usually fixes it.

Just to clarify, there is nothing in /var/crash and my bug report uses
apport as you describe.

You don't explain what the problem with my report is.
I spent a lot of time putting it together - thanks to Launchpad reg etc -
used apport and followed the guidelines.
So what's the problem?
Secondly, it's peremptory of you to close a bug report for spurious
reasons.

When started with the Last.fm plugin enabled, and a username in the Last.fm
settings, Rhythmbox crashes within a few seconds.
If I'm quick enough I can disable the Last.fm plugin, and Rhythmbox will
