The crash always happens when I enable the Arc Menu extension for Gnome Shell or after opening the app grid. I've created a bug report about it with a symbolic stacktrace here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1716068 I'm guessing that the app icon code in Gnome Shell
