filesystem seem to be ok. It's only bookmarks to non-root server
directories that cause the delay.

From the backtrace it looks like panel_place_menu_item_append_gtk_bookmarks is
waiting for an icon.
I'll try to find out if it's a specific bookmark that's causing this wait, I've
got a GVFS SSH bookmark in there, maybe it's that.

I had the same remote bookmark in Jaunty, but never saw this problem.
