I had the same problem after upgrading from 8.04 to 8.10 with NVidia. It was
really easy to fix thanks to instructions in the bugreport marked as duplicates

Well, this error doesn't occure regulary and now after updates and/or reboot
the gconftool-2 doesn't crash or it crashes randomly, everytime because of

Hi,
I have the very similar (maybe the same?) problem. When I only do a double
click or single click, no matter left or right, on any icon at the Desktop,
Nautilus restarts and opens a window showing my homedir content. Then if I try
to open any directory from my homedir, Nautilus does the same
